Action in Community Through Service (ACTS): Furnishing rooms in the shelters; mentoring teen girls in the shelter to help them with educational goals; supporting the domestic violence program through education.
American Cancer Society—Annual Relay for Life: 100% of fundraising profits go to ACS.
Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center: Provide meals for residents.
Salvation Army: Filling Christmas stockings.
Christmas Family: Supporting an economically disadvantaged family to have a nice Christmas—usually with more than 6 children.
SIOW also participates in organization-wide programs such as
Live Your Dream Education and Training Award: Assists women heads of household entering or re-entering the workforce obtain educationand skills needed to improve their employment and economic status.
Dream It, Be It - Career Support for Girls: Helps girls grow up to be strong successful, happy adults. Dream It, Be It targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success. It provides girls wit access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.
STOP Trafficking: Raises awareness about sexual trafficking of women and girls, and seeks to encourage citizens, law makers, and service providers to focus on this global problem.
Live Your Dream Campaign: Aims to inspire women and girls to live their dreams, and encourages them to pass their good fortune on toothers.
Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence: An awareness campaign that targets domestic violence as a workplace concern.
Violet Richardson Award: Named after the organization’s founder, this program recognizes and honors girls ages 14-17 for their extraordinary volunteer efforts.
Disaster Relief Fund for Women and Girls: Provides funds for programs that assist women and girls after a manmade or natural disaster.
